Solar in BalnarringThree jobs that usually happen one at a time
Living in Balnarring means driving. The shops, schools and work are spread across the Peninsula, and most households put real kilometres on the car every week. That is why the solar conversation here so often turns to EV charging, and why the Balnarring job we have written up did solar, a battery and an EV charger as one project rather than three separate ones.
That home now has 11.4kW of Jinko panels across the roof, a Sigenergy hybrid inverter, 16.12kWh of SigenStor battery on the outside wall and a 7kW Sigen charger for the driveway. It went ahead without the Solar Victoria rebate, which is worth knowing: not every household qualifies, and the system can still make sense on the federal discounts alone.
Out of the township the properties get bigger. On acreage toward Merricks and Red Hill the supply is often three-phase, the shed is a long way from the meter, and tank water means a pump that stops in a blackout. We design for all of that, and for faster three-phase EV charging where the supply allows. See our other Balnarring work.
