Tier-one Jinko and Aiko panels, designed around your roof and your bills, installed by our own CEC-accredited A-Grade electricians. Solar Victoria rebates, loans and STCs applied on the quote.
The panels are the part of a solar system everyone sees and the part that matters least once it is designed right. What decides how much power you make is the design: how many panels, where on the roof, facing which way, wired in which strings, sized for which load. Get that right and a Melbourne roof produces reliably for 25 years. Get it wrong and you have a system that never hits the number on the brochure.
Powerband designs and installs Jinko and Aiko panels across Melbourne as part of a complete solar and battery system, with the inverter and battery chosen to match. Because we also install the heat pumps, air conditioning and EV chargers the panels will run, the array is sized for the home you are building toward.

The four things that decide whether a solar system performs.
Jinko and Aiko, both with 25-year performance warranties and Australian warranty support. High-efficiency cells so you get more kilowatts out of a Melbourne roof that rarely faces due north.
We design from your bills and your roof, not from a package. If a heat pump, a reverse cycle system or an EV is coming, the array is sized for that load now, so it is not undersized in two years.
Melbourne roofs face every direction and half of them have a gum tree next door. Panel layout, string design and optimisers or microinverters where they earn their keep, so the system produces what the quote says.
Clean Energy Council accredited installers, no subcontractors. Roof mounting to standard, cable runs hidden where possible, switchboard and export limit handled with your retailer.
Four steps. The install is the quick part.

Satellite check of the roof, then a site visit to confirm pitch, orientation, shading and roof type. Twelve months of bills or a smart meter export tells us what to size for.
Panel layout, system size, inverter choice and expected annual production, with Solar Victoria rebates and STCs already taken off. One number.
Usually one day for a residential system. Mounting, panels, cabling, inverter, switchboard work and testing by our own crew.
Grid connection paperwork lodged with your distributor, monitoring app set up on your phone, and a walk-through of what the numbers mean.
All applied on the quote and lodged by us. You see the after-rebate number first.
A rebate on solar panels for eligible owner-occupiers, plus an interest-free loan for the same amount again. We check eligibility and lodge the application.
The federal solar incentive, applied as a point-of-sale discount on every eligible system. Nothing to claim back.
Solar Victoria and federal battery incentives apply when a battery goes in with the panels. Often the reason to do both at once.
Plenty of solar companies in Melbourne. Very few that also install what the solar is for.
Clean Energy Council accredited installer and approved retailer. Every panel fitted by our own A-Grade electricians, never subcontracted.
We also install the heat pumps, air conditioning and EV chargers. A solar-only company sizes to last year's bill; we size to the all-electric home you are building toward.
Solar Victoria panel rebate and interest-free loan, plus federal STCs, applied on the quote and lodged by us.
Hybrid inverter and switchboard set up so a battery bolts on later without redoing anything. Or we do the battery now, sized to match.

The whole experience of working with Powerband has been fantastic. From the get go they were helpful with the design, requirements and answering all the questions we had about the install. We couldn't be happier with choosing them for the job. Special thanks to Bailey and the team for getting the entire installation done in one day it was a huge job so for it to be done and to such a high standard is much appreciated Thanks everyone at Powerband for all you've donePosted on Google![]()

We have just had a Braemer Dominator reverse cycle ducted system installed by the Powerband Electrical team to replace our gas-fired system. We were very happy with the whole process, from the sales/design discussions with Dayle to the installation by the team led by Julian and including Logan and Darren. Using the existing ducting had its challenges but the team overcame them well. Julian set up the AirTouch5 control system & zoning with us and with a sudden cold snap arriving it has proven simple to use to create a comfortable environment. In fact we are already finding it far more effective system than the considerably larger gas unit and a more uniform heat with less draughts. Thanks to the Powerband team. Petris and his electrical team did 2 inverter airconditioner installs as part of our whole solar system install. Great workers, good thinkers who could sort out a couple of small issues in short order and wonderful people to have around our house. Organised and professional. Highly recommend Powerband.Posted on Google![]()

Had the Powerband team electrify out whole house. Updated the heating / cooling with split systems, replace gas cooktop & hot water and put solar on with a 30kw battery. No gas bill, solar is producing more energy than we consume. These days we barely even have the supply charge. As part of it, they put the package together of what we wanted and needed to future proof our house and showed us several options for paying for it, in the end we opted for a 5-year interest free loan. Looking at our numbers, most of the loan will be paid off from the savings from our gas and electricity savings. All the work and upgrades done and barely any out of pocket cost, nice.... The team were great - worked in with timing for the jobs when it worked for us. The boys on site were all great, friendly, polite and professional. Did the job well and packed up (and cleaned up) well. Happy to recommend Powerband to anyone wanting to electrify their house in a cost-effective way.Posted on Google![]()

Powerband Electrical are always great to work with. Reliable, professional, and easy to coordinate with on jobs. Their team communicates well and turns up when they say they will. Highly recommend.
Anything else, call 0466 355 441. You will get an electrician, not a salesperson.
It depends on your usage, your roof and what you plan to electrify. A typical Melbourne home lands somewhere between 6.6kW and 13kW, which is roughly 15 to 30 modern panels. We size from your actual bills at the site inspection rather than guessing from house size.
Jinko and Aiko, both tier-one with 25-year performance warranties. We choose between them based on your roof space and budget, and we will tell you when the cheaper option is the right one.
North is ideal but not essential. East-west arrays produce well across the day and often match a household's usage pattern better. Shading matters more than orientation, and we design around it.
Yes. Tile, tin and Klip-Lok are all standard. Older terracotta needs more care, and we tell you if any tiles will need replacing before we start.
25 years is the performance warranty period and panels typically keep producing beyond it. Inverters are usually the first thing replaced, at around 10 to 12 years, which is why we specify inverters with strong warranties.
Yes, at reduced output. A system sized for Melbourne accounts for winter and cloud, which is part of why the design step matters more here than in Brisbane.
Solar Victoria offers a rebate on solar panels for eligible owner-occupiers, plus an interest-free loan for the same amount. Federal STCs come off the price as a point-of-sale discount. We confirm eligibility and lodge both.
If you have a decent evening load, usually yes, and there are battery rebates available now. If not, we make the system battery-ready so you can add one later. Details on our battery storage page.
All of Melbourne, from the inner suburbs to the Mornington Peninsula. We are based in Somerville. See the locations page or call and we will confirm.
Your address and a recent bill. We will design the system, show you the expected production and quote it with rebates applied. No obligation.
