Solar in RowvilleBig roofs, busy evenings and two cars in the drive
Most of Rowville went up in the 1980s and 1990s: brick veneer family homes on decent blocks, a lot of them double storey, nearly all with hipped concrete tile roofs. Those roofs are big but broken into several faces, and many carry an evaporative cooler as well. Fitting a useful system means drawing the panels around the hips and the cooler rather than filling one face and stopping.
The households are what really shape the design. Rowville has no train line, so many households run two cars, and a full family home means a heavy evening load and, increasingly, an EV in the garage. We size the panels and battery for that from the start, and plan an EV charger into the system even if the car is a year or two away.
Supply phase varies from street to street, so we confirm it before choosing the inverter. Single-phase homes get a single-phase hybrid, three-phase homes a three-phase unit with room for a bigger charger. Read about our other work around the suburb on the Rowville page.
