Solar in Langwarrin SouthPlanning for the day the bottles go
Langwarrin South is acreage on the doorstep of our Somerville depot: lifestyle blocks, larger single-storey homes mostly built from the 1980s onward, horse paddocks and sheds set back from quiet roads. Mains gas does not reach every property, so a lot of households here heat, cook and make hot water with LPG. Most also run two cars, because the train and the shops are a drive away.
That turns a solar quote into a planning job. If the heating, the hot water and eventually the cars are all going to run on electricity, the array and battery have to be sized for that house, not only for today's power bill. We ask what you want to change over the next few years and size the system so each step can be added later without pulling down what went up first.
Done in that order, the LPG order shrinks with every change and the battery carries more of the evening. We look after the design from the roof to the meter board, along with everything on our Langwarrin South page.
