Solar in DromanaFrom weekender to full-time home
Dromana has always had two kinds of house: the fibro and weatherboard beach places from the 1960s and 70s, and the brick homes and newer builds that went up behind them and on the lower slopes of Arthurs Seat. What has changed is how they are used. A lot of homes that once sat empty from Sunday night to Friday now have someone in them every day, and the power bill looks very different when a house runs all week.
That shift is why our Dromana quotes rarely stop at a few panels. A home that is lived in full time runs a fridge, a freezer, heating, hot water and often an EV, and most of that load lands after the sun goes down. A battery sized to the evening, with solar big enough to fill it in winter, is what actually moves the bill. On the bay side of Point Nepean Road the outdoor gear and mounting also have to be specified for salt.
New builds are the other half of the work. Since 2024 new Victorian homes cannot get a new gas connection, so a fresh Dromana build is all-electric from the start and the solar, battery and switchboard are best planned before the plasterers are finished. The new build on this page went solar before the owner moved in. See everything we do in Dromana.
