Solar in Chelsea HeightsFamily homes, a garage and a car in it
Chelsea Heights is the quieter, inland side of 3196. Most of it was built from the 1970s through the 1990s on flat ground east of the Edithvale Wetlands: brick veneer family homes on standard suburban blocks, a mix of single and double storey, mostly tile roofs with some tin, and a double garage on a lot of them. Those garages matter, because they are where the battery goes, and more and more often where an electric car gets parked.
That is the job we have written up here. On a double-storey Chelsea Heights home with a tin roof, we fitted 16 Jinko Tiger Neo III panels for 7.6kW, a GoodWe single-phase hybrid inverter, three GoodWe battery modules in the garage for 24.96kWh, and a 7kW GoodWe EV charger, all in one visit. The existing switchboard took the lot without an upgrade, and the Solar Victoria rebate was handled on the owner's behalf.
Not every house here needs the car charger, but the thinking is the same: work out what the house will draw over the next few years and size the panels and battery for it now. If the original switchboard needs work, we find that at the site visit and price it in. See our other work in Chelsea Heights.
