Haier 500 Series 330L
The largest tank we fit, in a monoblock heat pump. It suits the busier Mount Eliza household where several showers run back to back. The range also comes in 200L and 250L.
- 330L monoblock
- Also 200L and 250L
- For busy households
Old gas tanks replaced with an Emerald, Reclaim, iStore or Haier heat pump, sized for the house and placed sensibly for the coast. Our own plumber and electrician, usually in one day, with the VEU discount and STCs off the quote.
Hot water systems Mount Eliza homes rely on are usually working harder than the ones in a smaller suburban house. The homes are bigger, a lot of them are two-storey with more than one bathroom, and the gas storage tank tucked down the side was chosen years ago. When it starts to go, it is worth thinking about size and where the new unit should sit, not just swapping like for like.
A heat pump uses about a quarter of the energy of a gas storage unit to make the same hot water. A 270L to 300L tank covers a family of four to six with normal use, and a busier household or a house with guests often suits something larger. Because many Mount Eliza roofs already carry panels, we usually set the heat pump to run in the middle of the day so it heats on your own solar.
Closer to the water we think about placement: a sheltered side of the house rather than one open to the wind, and enough clearance for the unit to breathe. We look at all of it on one visit and quote it with the rest of our work in Mount Eliza.
Four heat pump ranges, chosen on size and on where the unit has to go.
The largest tank we fit, in a monoblock heat pump. It suits the busier Mount Eliza household where several showers run back to back. The range also comes in 200L and 250L.
A one-piece unit with the heat pump built in, in 220L, 270L and 320L. The 320L gives a large family headroom without a second tank.
Australian made, with the heat pump separate from the tank. Useful when the best spot for the heat pump is not the same as the best spot for the tank, or when one side of the house takes the weather.
A 270L heat pump for a family of four to six. We fitted one in Hastings, running off the solar during the day, in place of an old electric tank.
The full range is on our products page.
The Emerald All-In-One Pro heat pump, app-controlled, in 220L, 270L and 320L sizes.
An Australian-made split heat pump, with the tank and the outdoor unit able to sit apart.
The iStore 270L all-in-one heat pump, a common straight swap for a family-sized gas tank.
The Haier 500 Series monoblock heat pump water heater, in 200L, 250L and 330L sizes.
Not in Mount Eliza itself, but nearby on the Peninsula, in Baxter, Mount Martha and Hastings.
Next door in Baxter, heat pump hot water with 24 Jinko Tiger Neo III panels, a single-phase Sigen hybrid and three SigenStor modules undercover on the south wall. The main board and sub-board were both upgraded.
Down the coast in Mount Martha, new hot water with 28 all-black Jinko Tiger Neo III panels on a tin roof and a 16.64kWh GoodWe battery on the south wall. The owner called us prompt, efficient, clear, good humoured and responsive.
A 2015 5kW array came off and 13.3kW of all-black Jinko went on, with a GoodWe 8kW inverter and 33.28kWh battery. An iStore heat pump replaced the old electric tank and runs off the solar during the day.
A gas to heat pump swap is normally done in one day, with the plumber and electrician working together.

We ask how many people live there and how the house is used, then size the tank to suit.
Sheltered where we can, with clearance around the unit and a short run to the existing pipes.
One written quote with the VEU discount and STCs already taken off.
Old tank out, new heat pump in and connected, its circuit run by our electrician, normally in one day.
Programmed for the middle of the day so it heats while your panels are producing.
Both are point-of-sale discounts. We work them out, show them on the quote and lodge them.
Heat pump hot water attracts small-scale technology certificates, taken straight off the price.
The VEU discount on a heat pump is at its largest when it replaces a gas unit, which is the usual job in Mount Eliza.
A heat pump on a timer pairs naturally with solar. If your array is small or old, our Mount Eliza solar and battery page covers upgrades and batteries.
The heat pump, the panels and the switchboard all come from the same team.
Our own plumbers and A-Grade electricians on the same job, so nothing waits on a second contractor.
We replace old systems rather than patch them, and take the old unit away.
Tanks from 200L to 330L across four brands, chosen for the household you actually have.
Twelve minutes from our Somerville depot, so a visit is easy to fit in.

The whole experience of working with Powerband has been fantastic. From the get go they were helpful with the design, requirements and answering all the questions we had about the install. We couldn't be happier with choosing them for the job. Special thanks to Bailey and the team for getting the entire installation done in one day it was a huge job so for it to be done and to such a high standard is much appreciated Thanks everyone at Powerband for all you've donePosted on Google![]()

We have just had a Braemer Dominator reverse cycle ducted system installed by the Powerband Electrical team to replace our gas-fired system. We were very happy with the whole process, from the sales/design discussions with Dayle to the installation by the team led by Julian and including Logan and Darren. Using the existing ducting had its challenges but the team overcame them well. Julian set up the AirTouch5 control system & zoning with us and with a sudden cold snap arriving it has proven simple to use to create a comfortable environment. In fact we are already finding it far more effective system than the considerably larger gas unit and a more uniform heat with less draughts. Thanks to the Powerband team. Petris and his electrical team did 2 inverter airconditioner installs as part of our whole solar system install. Great workers, good thinkers who could sort out a couple of small issues in short order and wonderful people to have around our house. Organised and professional. Highly recommend Powerband.Posted on Google![]()

Had the Powerband team electrify out whole house. Updated the heating / cooling with split systems, replace gas cooktop & hot water and put solar on with a 30kw battery. No gas bill, solar is producing more energy than we consume. These days we barely even have the supply charge. As part of it, they put the package together of what we wanted and needed to future proof our house and showed us several options for paying for it, in the end we opted for a 5-year interest free loan. Looking at our numbers, most of the loan will be paid off from the savings from our gas and electricity savings. All the work and upgrades done and barely any out of pocket cost, nice.... The team were great - worked in with timing for the jobs when it worked for us. The boys on site were all great, friendly, polite and professional. Did the job well and packed up (and cleaned up) well. Happy to recommend Powerband to anyone wanting to electrify their house in a cost-effective way.Posted on Google![]()

Powerband Electrical are always great to work with. Reliable, professional, and easy to coordinate with on jobs. Their team communicates well and turns up when they say they will. Highly recommend.

It depends more on how many people shower than on how many bathrooms there are. A family of four to six with normal use suits 270L to 300L. A busier household often goes to 320L or 330L.
We place the unit on a sheltered side of the house where we can and keep it clear of anything that blocks airflow. A few streets back it is a standard install.
Not by us. We replace old systems, we do not repair them. A gas to heat pump swap is normally done in one day.
Yes. We set it to heat in the middle of the day, when your panels are producing, so most of its energy comes from your roof.
About a quarter of the energy of a gas storage unit for the same hot water.
The VEU discount, largest when replacing gas, and federal STCs. Both come off the quote and we lodge them. Solar Victoria does not cover hot water.
Tell us about the house and the household. We size the tank, pick the spot and send one price with the discounts off.
