Mount ElizaMount Eliza, from the switchboard up
Mount Eliza is Mornington Peninsula coast, 8 km and about 12 minutes from our Somerville depot. The housing runs from 60s fibro beach houses to new builds, and a lot of it is holiday or second homes being updated for full-time living. Solar uptake here is among the highest in Victoria, batteries are the natural next step, and salt air means outdoor units and mounting hardware have to be specified for it.
The gas heater and the hot water unit are where a Mount Eliza home's energy money goes, and both are in the Victorian Energy Upgrades area, so replacing them attracts VEU discounts on top of the running-cost saving. Ducted reverse cycle usually connects to the existing ducts, and a heat pump hot water unit goes in on the same day the old tank comes out. Solar Victoria rebates and loans cover the panels and battery that follow.
Mount Eliza is regular territory for our crews, and a site inspection there is usually within the week. We design every job as one system, so the solar is sized for the heat pump it will run and the switchboard is checked before the EV charger is quoted.
