Heating in KeysboroughA heater that is finished, or a house that is never quite right
Heating calls from Keysborough come in two kinds. From the older streets, the brick veneers built through the 1970s and 1980s, it is usually a ducted gas heater that has failed or been condemned, in a house that has never had proper cooling. From Keysborough South it is more often a comfort complaint: a large home built since about 2010, heating that works well enough, and an upstairs that is stifling in summer and hard to balance in winter.
The older homes are the simpler job and suit the best version of it. They are single storey with an accessible roof space, so the gas heater and its ducts come out together and a ducted reverse cycle system goes in on new R1.5 insulated ducts sized to the unit. The house ends up with one quiet electric system that heats for around a third of the running cost of gas heating and cools the whole place as well.
In the newer estates we look harder at the building. Some homes there were built ready to run all-electric and only need the right equipment. Others have gas ducted heating with ducts enclosed between the two floors, and an add-on cooler that never coped upstairs. Zoning, a correctly sized unit and sometimes a split system for one stubborn room make the difference. Details of our other services in Keysborough are on the suburb page.
