iStore 270L
The standard family choice. An all-in-one that stands in the space the gas tank used, covering four to six people with normal use.

- Family of four to six
- Easy solar timing
Homes in the earlier Cranbourne East estates were plumbed for gas, and many of their original storage tanks are now getting old. We replace them with heat pumps sized for a family home, plumber and electrician together, normally in one day.
Cranbourne East is really two suburbs when it comes to hot water. The earlier estates, built from the mid 2000s, were plumbed for mains gas, and many of those homes still run the gas storage tank the builder fitted. The newest streets were built without a gas connection, so those homes started out with electric hot water. Most of the hot water systems Cranbourne East owners call us about are in the first group: an original tank that is starting to leak, rust at the base or run out sooner than it used to.
Replacing it with another gas tank is the quick answer, but it repeats the running cost for another decade. A heat pump makes the same hot water with about a quarter of the energy of a gas storage unit. In a family home with three or four bedrooms, a 270L to 300L tank covers four to six people with normal use. The swap is normally done in one day, with our plumber and electrician working together, and the old tank is taken away.
Estate homes tend to make the install simple. The unit usually sits on a side path or near the garage, the switchboard is newer and there is a clear route for the new circuit. Many of these roofs also carry solar, or soon will, and a heat pump timed to the middle of the day runs largely on it. More on our work across Cranbourne East.
Hot water systems Cranbourne East families can size to the household, each fitted by our own plumber and electrician.
The standard family choice. An all-in-one that stands in the space the gas tank used, covering four to six people with normal use.
Available in 220L, 270L and 320L. The 320L suits larger households in double-storey homes with extra bathrooms.
Australian made, with the tank and compressor separate, so the tank can stay where the old one was and the compressor goes where airflow is best, away from bedroom windows on a narrow estate setback.
200L, 250L and 330L. A tidy option for a townhouse or a smaller household, with the 330L for big families.
The full range is on our products page.
The Emerald All-In-One Pro heat pump, app-controlled, in 220L, 270L and 320L sizes.
An Australian-made split heat pump, with the tank and the outdoor unit able to sit apart.

Our closest written-up hot water job is next door in Cranbourne West. The others are in Berwick and Surrey Hills.
In Cranbourne West, a 250 litre Reclaim heat pump went in with 24 Aiko Neostar panels, a single-phase Sigenergy hybrid and 24.18kWh of SigenStor. The owner chose not to wait until he had saved for it.
In Berwick, heat pump hot water went in with 34 Jinko panels on tile and an 18.08kWh Sigenergy battery behind bollards. The main switchboard was upgraded and cement sheeting added to bring the job up to standard.
In Surrey Hills, an iStore heat pump went in with 12.35kW of all-black panels across three roof faces, a 24.18kWh Sigenergy battery behind bollards in the garage and two replacement split systems. One crew, one visit.
Our plumber and electrician come together, so the swap is normally one day.

Gas or electric, its size, and where it sits on the side path or by the garage.
People and bathrooms decide the tank size. A 270L to 300L tank suits four to six.
VEU and STCs taken off at point of sale and lodged by us.
Old unit removed, heat pump plumbed in and wired on its own circuit.

Hot water is usually one of three gas appliances in an earlier estate home. See how the heating and cooktop follow on our Cranbourne East home electrification page.
Heat pump hot water earns small-scale technology certificates, taken off at point of sale.
A discount on eligible heat pumps, largest when replacing a gas unit, applied on the quote. Solar Victoria does not cover hot water.
A heat pump needs a plumber and an electrician. Ours arrive together.
Both trades are Powerband employees. Nothing is subcontracted.
A 320L tank in a two-person household wastes energy. We size to how many live there.
We fit solar too, and set the heat pump to use it from the first day.
Old systems are replaced with heat pumps rather than repaired, so you are not calling again next year.

The whole experience of working with Powerband has been fantastic. From the get go they were helpful with the design, requirements and answering all the questions we had about the install. We couldn't be happier with choosing them for the job. Special thanks to Bailey and the team for getting the entire installation done in one day it was a huge job so for it to be done and to such a high standard is much appreciated Thanks everyone at Powerband for all you've donePosted on Google![]()

We have just had a Braemer Dominator reverse cycle ducted system installed by the Powerband Electrical team to replace our gas-fired system. We were very happy with the whole process, from the sales/design discussions with Dayle to the installation by the team led by Julian and including Logan and Darren. Using the existing ducting had its challenges but the team overcame them well. Julian set up the AirTouch5 control system & zoning with us and with a sudden cold snap arriving it has proven simple to use to create a comfortable environment. In fact we are already finding it far more effective system than the considerably larger gas unit and a more uniform heat with less draughts. Thanks to the Powerband team. Petris and his electrical team did 2 inverter airconditioner installs as part of our whole solar system install. Great workers, good thinkers who could sort out a couple of small issues in short order and wonderful people to have around our house. Organised and professional. Highly recommend Powerband.Posted on Google![]()

Had the Powerband team electrify out whole house. Updated the heating / cooling with split systems, replace gas cooktop & hot water and put solar on with a 30kw battery. No gas bill, solar is producing more energy than we consume. These days we barely even have the supply charge. As part of it, they put the package together of what we wanted and needed to future proof our house and showed us several options for paying for it, in the end we opted for a 5-year interest free loan. Looking at our numbers, most of the loan will be paid off from the savings from our gas and electricity savings. All the work and upgrades done and barely any out of pocket cost, nice.... The team were great - worked in with timing for the jobs when it worked for us. The boys on site were all great, friendly, polite and professional. Did the job well and packed up (and cleaned up) well. Happy to recommend Powerband to anyone wanting to electrify their house in a cost-effective way.Posted on Google![]()

Yes. The heat pump usually goes in the same spot, with the plumbing reconnected and a new electrical circuit run. It is normally a one-day job.
For four to six people with normal use, a 270L to 300L tank. Larger households might look at the 320L Emerald or the 330L Haier.
If you already have a heat pump, probably not until it ages. If you have an electric element tank, a heat pump uses far less power for the same hot water.
It makes hot water with about a quarter of the energy of a gas storage unit.
No. We replace old systems with heat pumps. If yours has failed, we quote the replacement and book the swap.
Yes. We set the timer so it heats in the middle of the day, when the panels are producing.
A short visit to see the tank and the space, then a written price with VEU and STCs already off.
