NiddrieOff gas in Niddrie, one step at a time
Niddrie is postwar brick veneer and triple-fronted homes around the Keilor Road shops, with a steady stream of knockdown-rebuilds and townhouses. The original homes are nearly all on gas with ducted heating added over the years, and that is where our work starts.
Because Niddrie is on mains gas and inside the VEU area, the usual order of works is heating and hot water first for the rebates and the running-cost drop, then solar and a battery sized to the new electric load, then the cooktop, then the gas meter abolished. The west also runs hotter in summer than the bay and eastern suburbs, so the reverse cycle system that replaces the gas heater earns its keep twice a year.
Everything on this page is done by Powerband employees, not subcontractors, and quoted as a fixed after-rebate price after a free site inspection. For the full picture of how we stage a house off gas, see our home electrification page; for Niddrie specifics, the fastest answer is a phone call.
