ShorehamWhat we see in Shoreham homes
30 minutes from Somerville, Shoreham is where a lot of our Peninsula work is. Coastal homes, strong solar, owners who want a battery and backup for the outages that come with the wind. Gas is reticulated in parts of Shoreham and not others, so the electrification plan starts with checking what the house actually runs on.
With no mains gas to remove, the Shoreham plan is about generation and storage: a solar array sized for the property, a battery big enough for the evening and for outages, heat pump hot water timed to the solar, and an EV charger where the cars are. The Solar Victoria rebate and loan (solar panels and inverters) and the federal battery discount all apply, and three-phase supply where it exists opens up larger systems.
Shoreham is regular territory for our crews, and a site inspection there is usually within the week. We design every job as one system, so the solar is sized for the heat pump it will run and the switchboard is checked before the EV charger is quoted.
