PortseaPortsea, from the switchboard up
Portsea is Mornington Peninsula coast, 42 km and about 50 minutes from our Somerville depot. The housing runs from 60s fibro beach houses to new builds, and a lot of it is holiday or second homes being updated for full-time living. Solar uptake here is among the highest in Victoria, batteries are the natural next step, and salt air means outdoor units and mounting hardware have to be specified for it.
Because Portsea is on mains gas and inside the VEU area, the typical order of works is heating and hot water first for the rebates and the running-cost drop, then solar and a battery sized to the new electric load, then the cooktop, then the gas meter abolished. We plan the whole sequence at the first inspection so nothing has to be redone.
Everything on this page is done by Powerband employees, not subcontractors, and quoted as a fixed after-rebate price after a free site inspection. For the full picture of how we stage a house off gas, see home electrification; for Portsea specifics, the fastest answer is a phone call.
