Mount EvelynThe Mount Evelyn job, house by house
Mount Evelyn is in the Yarra Ranges Council foothills, about 60 minutes from Somerville. Sloping blocks, tree cover and homes from the 70s through the 90s, most of them on ducted gas or an old wood heater. Shade is the design problem for solar here, so we spend more time on panel placement and optimisers in Mount Evelyn than almost anywhere else, and reverse cycle heating is the biggest win for the cold winters.
The gas heater and the hot water unit are where a Mount Evelyn home's energy money goes, and both are in the Victorian Energy Upgrades area, so replacing them attracts VEU discounts on top of the running-cost saving. Ducted reverse cycle usually connects to the existing ducts, and a heat pump hot water unit goes in on the same day the old tank comes out. Solar Victoria rebates and loans cover the panels and battery that follow.
Everything on this page is done by Powerband employees, not subcontractors, and quoted as a fixed after-rebate price after a free site inspection. For the full picture of how we stage a house off gas, see home electrification; for Mount Evelyn specifics, the fastest answer is a phone call.
