Forest HillThe Forest Hill job, house by house
Forest Hill sits in the City of Whitehorse area, about 43 km and 50 minutes from our Somerville depot, next to Vermont, Nunawading and Vermont South. Most of the housing went up between the 1960s and the 1980s: brick veneer on a slab or stumps, a ducted gas heater in the roof and a gas storage tank against the side wall. It is the most common kind of house we electrify, and the one where the savings are largest.
The gas heater and the hot water unit are where a Forest Hill home's energy money goes, and both are in the Victorian Energy Upgrades area, so replacing them attracts VEU discounts on top of the running-cost saving. Ducted reverse cycle goes in with new R1.5 insulated ducts, and a heat pump hot water unit goes in on the same day the old tank comes out. The Solar Victoria rebate and loan cover the solar panels and inverter, and the federal battery discount covers the battery.
Everything on this page is done by Powerband employees, not subcontractors, and quoted as a fixed after-rebate price after a free site inspection. For the full picture of how we stage a house off gas, see home electrification; for Forest Hill specifics, the fastest answer is a phone call.
