CockatooThe Cockatoo job, house by house
Cockatoo is in the Cardinia Shire foothills, about 50 minutes from Somerville. Sloping blocks, tree cover and homes from the 70s through the 90s, most of them on ducted gas or an old wood heater. Shade is the design problem for solar here, so we spend more time on panel placement and optimisers in Cockatoo than almost anywhere else, and reverse cycle heating is the biggest win for the cold winters.
Most Cockatoo properties skip the gas conversation entirely and go straight to the question that matters: how much solar and battery does this place need to run itself. We size for the real load, including sheds and pumps, and we configure backup circuits properly because power outages are a fact of life out here.
Cockatoo is regular territory for our crews, and a site inspection there is usually within the week. We design every job as one system, so the solar is sized for the heat pump it will run and the switchboard is checked before the EV charger is quoted.
