CarrumThe Carrum job, house by house
Carrum is City of Kingston bayside, about 20 minutes from our Somerville depot along the Nepean Highway. The housing is older and more varied than the outer suburbs: interwar and 1950s homes, plenty of them renovated and extended, on generous blocks with good roof area. Gas heating is near universal in the originals, and heritage or neighbourhood character overlays affect where panels can go on some streets, which we check before quoting.
The gas heater and the hot water unit are where a Carrum home's energy money goes, and both are in the Victorian Energy Upgrades area, so replacing them attracts VEU discounts on top of the running-cost saving. Ducted reverse cycle goes in with new R1.5 insulated ducts, and a heat pump hot water unit goes in on the same day the old tank comes out. The Solar Victoria rebate and loan cover the solar panels and inverter, and the federal battery discount covers the battery.
Everything on this page is done by Powerband employees, not subcontractors, and quoted as a fixed after-rebate price after a free site inspection. For the full picture of how we stage a house off gas, see home electrification; for Carrum specifics, the fastest answer is a phone call.
