CanterburyThe Canterbury job, house by house
About 50 minutes from Somerville, Canterbury is classic City of Boroondara housing: brick veneer built in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, most of it heated by ducted gas that is now well past its design life. We have worked in Canterbury and neighbouring Camberwell, Surrey Hills and Balwyn for years, so we know these houses before we walk in.
Because Canterbury is on mains gas and inside the VEU area, the typical order of works is heating and hot water first for the rebates and the running-cost drop, then solar and a battery sized to the new electric load, then the cooktop, then the gas meter abolished. We plan the whole sequence at the first inspection so nothing has to be redone.
Canterbury is regular territory for our crews, and a site inspection there is usually within the week. We design every job as one system, so the solar is sized for the heat pump it will run and the switchboard is checked before the EV charger is quoted.
